A Eucharistic host in India purportedly displayed the Holy Face of Jesus.
Twelve years after it happened, the Vatican recently acknowledged this Eucharistic miracle in India.
In Christ the King Church, Vilakkannur, Kerala, the Holy Face of Jesus Christ was depicted on a Eucharistic host. The host was transported to Rome for scientific analysis by the parish, which is also a part of the Syro-Malabar Archdiocese of Tellicherry.
On November 15, 2013, during morning Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Thomas Pathickal, the parish priest at the time, the Holy Face of Jesus made its first appearance on the host. The priest noticed a spot on the large host. He kept the host aside and continued Mass using another host kept in the tabernacle. After Mass he called the sacristian who said it was the face of Jesus. After that, the priest placed the host in a monstrance and kept it on the altar for adoration. When he locked the host inside the tabernacle at around 11 a.m., as directed by the archbishop, Fr. Pathickal claimed that the radiant face was still visible.
To worship and observe the host, thousands of people flocked to the parish.
